I was thoroughly impressed with the team over at Roosters. I have been eagerly awaiting their opening. I went in to get a haircut, as well as fix a mistake done by a competitor. Scheduling my visit was super easy, they were very welcoming when I entered, reviewing with me what was entailed, and how it differed from your ‘typical salon’. I was provided with a fantastic cut/style (fixed the prior mistake from the ‘other guys’) had a wash, scalp massage, and hot towel treatment, all along Stylist Ashlee provided light yet fun conversation with a great attitude and smile. Just the right amount of time spent to get awesome service in a clean and stylish setting and go on with my day! Thanks again guys. I look forward to seeing you on my next visit. ~ Drew M

I visited Roosters three times. The first time I was very happy, but the next two times were disappointing. The cost includes a hot towel and a massaging shampoo, which I did not get the second or third times. So I went in looking for a great experience and left feeling disappointed and like I did not get what I paid for. I left direct feedback to Roosters both times but never heard back, so I will continue my search to find a place that delivers the services that I pay for. Update: the salon owner reached out to me to hear about my appointment experience. He promised that things would get better. I’ve now been back half a dozen times and things are great. The new manager is attentive and thorough. This has become the salon I’ve been looking for! ~ Matt F

I talked to the owner Matt and he told me about his place. Him and his team are super friendly, welcoming, proficient, and the list can go on. My mom used to cut my hair for the longest time because she was a hair dresser for many years but been trying to find someone that was acknowledged and passioned like she was. Haven't found anyone worth going back until Matt told me to come by his shop! Marshay cut my hair and even suggested ways to help my hair grow and not grow the way that I would end up looking the way I wanted hair to look. Just gotta say, Derek is seriously amazing. He's not your typical barber - this guy takes real pride in his work. Every single haircut, he's like a total perfectionist. Instead of rushing through, he takes his sweet time making sure everything looks just right. What makes Derek awesome is how easy he is to talk to. Sitting in his chair feels like hanging out with an old friend. He's got this way of making conversation that's totally natural - sometimes we're cracking jokes, sometimes just catching up about life. And he actually listens, you know? He pays attention to every single detail. We're talking precise lines, checking and double-checking to make sure everything is spot on. ~ J _

I've tried going to 2 other barber shops prior to coming here with the intent on trying something new with my facial hair but with limited results. I decided to give it one more try with a new shop, and this place delivered. I was seen first thing when they opened. The staff there was so kind and friendly, offered suggestions on what to do, and made my new style work. Dax was an amazing stylist and I'm so glad that he took the time to listen to what I was looking for. This may be 20 minutes from my home, but it's worth the drive. First time visit today; coming off of a bad streak of cuts from another barber. Asked for what I needed; the cut and style that was asked for; was delivered as promised. But one key factor; Derek went above my expectations by taking his time. This is huge to me. You could not ask for more. Great services are included as part of the cost. You truly do get what you pay for. Add to everything; I was a walk-in; and they still took excellent care and didn’t miss a beat. We have officially found our forever barber!! Ashlee is AMAZING! She is an absolute rockstar at her job, not to mention incredibly personable and fun. My son wanted to chop his long locks, and we are so happy with the results. We absolutely could not have asked for a better experience! Love the online booking, pricing is beyond fair, knowledgeable and helpful staff (John had some great insights when we were talking about hair donations), a clean and comfortable shop, perfect location... honestly, Rooster's has everything you could look for in a great barber shop!!! ~ Kelly R

I discovered Rooster's Men's Grooming Center through my brother. My brother is very picky about his hair, and he said that Rooster's does a great job whenever he gets a haircut. Because of that, I decided to try it for myself. The staff there are friendly and welcoming. They also know what they are doing as well. Usually, I just get simple haircuts whenever I need one. Every time they have done a great job with my hair. While I did not see the owner the most recent time I visited, I did meet him during one of my prior visits, and he is a fantastic guy. I made sure to thank him for making it all possible. I also like the decor of the shop. A nice modern take on a classic barbershop. They also have a seating area while you wait for your turn. I like the location of the place. Not only is it not too far from where I live, but they also have a Sprouts and other assorted shops and restaurants in the complex. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an excellent barbershop. ~ Erik G

My buddy told me it’s worth the drive. So I drove from Mesa to check Roosters out. The owner, Matt met me at the door and we talked while I waited for my haircut. The dude is the Captain of a huge ship when he’s not in the shop. I got a cut and awesome hot towel and neck shave. And they shampooed my hair after! It was awesome. The gal used a tonic that smelled like a real barbershop. She recommended some pomade from holland and my hair looks great! My girlfriend loves it. Totally worth the 20 minute drive! My boyfriend and I stopped by as a walk-in and Derrick took him in immediately. We have been on the hunt for a new shop for him to go to locally and this will definitely be his go-to. Derrick did an amazing job on his haircut, and extremely detailed in his work. We appreciate the mini consultation before to really understand what my boyfriend was looking for. So, I am the son of a cosmetologist and have lived in a few states and been to many, many, barbershops, including my mom's little place in the back our house growing up. (My job was to oil the wheels on the tray for her permanent rods.) But Roosters is the EXPERIENCE! I love the layout, the staff, the products, and the results. My wife made me an appointment to get a beard trim and facial massage. I went thinking this is going to be weird, mainly because I always try to take care of this sort of thing myself. However Ashlee made me feel comfortable and like a long time customer, and ven though it was my first time here. I will be booking a it’s her again soon and leaving the beard trimming to her( I have messed it up way too many times to count ) definitely recommend Roosters and Ashlee ~ Ruben B

I appreciate that the stylist took time to make sure the cut was what I wanted before and after starting. Even making adjustments once seeing the back. They weren't rushing to complete it and seemed to care that I was satisfied with it. Though it was expensive, it does seem to be normal pricing for this area. They also wash your hair afterwards, so see how that adds to the price and thankfully the stylist was good about keeping it from being awkward. ~ Alex

Cannot say enough good things about Rooster’s on Ray Rd. Just saw that this place was open next door and decided to give it a try after a bad experience at the nearby Great Clips (go figure). Ashlee is friendly, inviting, a great conversationalist, and provides a great experience and a high-quality haircut for a good price. Absolutely amazing! I am from Australia and have been visiting America for the last month. While in Arizona I realised I was overdue for a haircut and my Uber driver recommended this place and WOW, this service is what I fully imagine as the perfect American barbershop experience that I have always wanted. I love going to Roosters when it’s time for a cut. Their app makes it easy to make an appointment and they also accept walk-in without giving you attitude like a lot of other shops. They take their time to make sure you’re happy with their work, and don’t rush through their haircuts. They have a waiting area with comfortable chairs and beverages available in a mini fridge. ~ Miguel R

Roosters is a nice bright, clean new men’s hair place. The team there was very friendly. I really liked my haircut. I wasn’t due for a haircut, but I needed to stop somewhere to get the last haircut I had fixed. They focussed on all the little details like trimming my eyebrows - most places miss this. But the scalp massage with the conditioner was unprecedented and unbelievably good ~ Mark R

Stopped in for a quick beard trim while my wife was getting a pedicure next door, and it worked out perfectly! I like the fact that I can go get a haircut while my wife is next door doing her nails. Raquel did a great job on my beard and also set me up with some products to keep my beard from getting dry & frizzy. I'll be going back for a haircut soon. ~ Adam N

Was definitely a great experience felt welcomed and treated with respect, greeted at the door and asked what I was looking for. Fredi is a great barber and paid attention to detail and understood what I wanted as far as fixing my haircut from a previous barber that had ruined my haircut. Where do I even start? Availability for an appointment met my needs precisely. The location is easy to find and access, and parking is adequate. The atmosphere of Rooster's is clean, spacious, well lit, and comfortable. The price for a haircut is very agreeable. Ashley cut my teenager's hair and provided helpful tips for care and style.
